Vermont Open Studio Tour

Open Studio maps, posters and signs

Looking for an amazing way to explore Vermont and have the opportunity to visit studios of over 200 makers (not that you could visit them all in two days)? Well the Vermont Craft Council hosts its Open studio tour this weekend, May 28th-29th .

entering my now dirty studio. see it cleaned up this weekend.

From 10am to 5pm over 200 artists ,crafters and galleries will be opening there studios for tours, demonstrations and the chance to browse there products. See work in different stages of production in the makers settings. Its a great chance to sit with the makers and ask questions about there process, influences and the best place for a craft beer or maple creamy.

I am number 158 this year and you will find me in the "Central Region West" section of the map. The map shows the location along with written directions to each studio. You can see a digital version of the maps here .

some of the tools in my studio

Honestly one of my favorite events of the year. Luckily, I enjoy the visitors to the studio because my wife and I did the tour for years before I moved to Vermont and miss finding studios tucked in the valleys and hills of VT.

Hope to see you!  -TPS-

Farmer's Market Tomorrow

So was going to write a descriptive reintroduction to my blog. It has had a few runs in the past...

Annd I am going to still do that next week but here is a good example of how the blog will run. There will be more traditional blog posts. But I also want to use this format as a way to reach out to my audience about events, shows etc.

Four Finger Cup.

That said, tomorrow is the opening of the Vermont Farmers Market outdoor season. If you have not attended it, it is an amazing market. It is an absolutely huge market. Technically its two markets, the Vermont Farmers Market and Rutland County Farmers' Market. Fresh vegetables, bake goods, crafts, spirits, beer, wine and more.

Stoneware.

Also, I opened a new kiln load this morning (another blog post you will see in the future ) and will have the new work at market plus the popular functional pieces I have hadin the past. Look for a tent ( I am waiting for parts to my better tent). Weather looks like it is getting better just a slight chance of light rain but much warmer.

You can find directions .Here

Hope to see you there and look for a post on the unloaded kiln coming up. Thanks! -TPS-
